skulls _23_Fulaga - Pacific Memories
Skulls and other human remains which we were told were from enemies killed and eaten by ancestors, a clan of renowned warrior who were cannibals until the mid/late nineteenth century. Many of the skulls we were shown were broken which we were told happened when they were killed, eg fractures to the back or side of head. The skulls were in a cave on island of Narocake within the Fulaga lagoon, southern Lau Islands, Fiji.
